NOT EVEN FREEZING TEMPS COULD EXTINGUISH RED-HOT DRUPALCAMP CHICAGO ATTENDANCE

Drupal (druːpəl) a free and open-source content management system (CMS) and content management framework (CMF) written in PHP and distributed under the GNU General Public License. It is used as a back-end system for at least 1.5% of all websites worldwide ranging from personal blogs to corporate, political, and government sites like whitehouse.gov. It is also used for knowledge management and business collaboration. ~ Wikipedia

In true Chicago brutal winter fashion, the city had its first arctic freeze on Sat., Dec. 10 at 26 degrees. That couldn’t stop the fourth annual DrupalCamp Chicago event hosted at the UBS Tower (One North Wacker Drive), as attendance reached up to 250 participants. The event, hosted at One North Wacker Drive, attracted coders, developers, IT recruiters, students, entrepreneurs and marketing and sales types alike.

Dan Phillips, IT Consultant for Chicago Software Solutions, was looking for a Drupal Developer with PHP experience. “We’re looking for someone with expert skills who can jump right in and get started right away,” he said.

Event Gold Sponsor and web development company Wakensys CEO Mohamed Siraj lent his presence to show support, as his company primarily operates in Drupal.

“Our goal is to help the Drupal community grow,” he said. “And of course to get more business, but we want people to get to know the true power [of Drupal]. It’s a great platform for content management solutions.”

Silver Sponsor and interactive production company The Nerdery was on hand to not preach the Drupal gospel, necessarily, but certainly to support its mission in its growing number of users.
